TORONTO, Ontario – Welcome to Rivalry Magazine.

WTF is Rivalry Magazine, you ask? Well, let’s start with WTF is Rivalry first.

Rivalry is an internationally licensed sportsbook and industry underdog built through the love of gaming and internet culture. Our mission is to establish the future of betting entertainment for the next generation of consumers and inspire them to win.

We’re on a mythical quest to build a sports betting brand that meets our audiences’ unique needs and brings something fresh to the table. Because let’s be honest, the world doesn’t need another sleepy, run-of-the-mill sportsbook. We’re in it for the long-haul, the glory, and yes, the memes.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about this magazine thing.

Rivalry Magazine is a company blog and creative portfolio. It’s a place for us to talk about our products, people, and marketing with more depth and less constraints.

Have you ever wondered why our casino is running on a 1990s desktop computer? Has the half-man, half-goat from our marketing campaigns kept you awake at night? Or do you just want to learn more about Rivalry, the team, and why we are the way we are?

Well this is the place.

Rivalry is committed to premium, one-of-a-kind experiences that you won’t find elsewhere. Case in point, launching a deeply customized “magazine” from scratch instead of standing up a soulless blog page on Medium – even if it meant being on the creative team’s shit list for a while.

With that in mind, we’re holding ourselves to a very high bar for the quality of content you’ll read here, and we’ve partnered with some incredibly talented journalists (yes, real journalists) to help tell those stories. We promise you we’ll never publish an employee spotlight about how our marketing manager starts their day by brushing their teeth – I mean, who reads that stuff anyway?

Some of the content you’ll find on Rivalry Magazine will be fun and playful in nature while others will be educational and insightful; but one thing’s for certain – it will always be entertaining and worth your time (we’ll try our best, at least).

So, why are we launching a magazine? I’m glad you asked.

We’re doing disruptive work in the online betting space – we’re confident of that. 

We hate sportsbooks that look like Excel spreadsheets and Kevin Hart telling us to “bet now” as much as you do. So we’ve set out to do something entirely different with the belief that a fundamentally entertaining product and brand creates real value for customers. 

Sometimes that means doing things a little bit… differently (like starting our own cult). After all, we are built for a demographic fluent in memes, irony, and living on the edge of the internet. Some things are bound to get a little weird.

The purpose of Rivalry Magazine, its thoughtful design, and the stories you’ll read are meant to help connect those dots, provide a look under the hood, and bring people into the special universe we’re building.
